My father being an asbestos worker and a member of Local No. 9, I began working at this trade on May 5, 1944, and in August, 1947, became a member of Local 88, Richmond, Virginia.
After fourteen years of experiencing difficulty in obtaining proper tools, a difficulty I learned was shared by my father and other fellow workers. I decided in November 1958, to do something about this sitution. The tools we could not buy, we designed for manufacture (some of these we manufacture ourselves).
